I had a hunting buddy send me over this image with a classic internet hoax story attached to it. Being a believer in the paranormal, I nibbled on the hook. After I returned from cleaning my shorts I started checking with other friends on the possible validity of this picture. First off, I wanted to see if anyone had seen this thing before, and secondly, I wanted to see what in the heck they thought it was!!

So, after digging around and getting a few links (thanks Chuck!), it does look to be a photoshop hoax. But the bigger questions remain:
1. What would you do if something like this did show up on your trail camera?
2. Do you think something unexplainable (Bigfoot, El Chupacabra. etc.) will ever pop up on a trail camera?

I also believe in the paranormal state. However, I tend to side with the critics on this particular subject. Could it be a easy marketing scheme for Wildgame Innovations? A new upcoming movie, video game, etc?
ReplyDeleteHowever, if (and this is a big IF) this were to show up on my camera, I would have to seriously consider options into investigating the matter further. It would definitely shake me enough (I think) to steer clear of this area for quite some time. Maybe forever...
I do not believe in bigfoot, but am a firm believer in the paranormal state. Alien beings - 50/50 - leaning towards this being an internet marketing scheme, which in this case seems to be going well for whomever gets to take advantage of it!
Talk about walking out of the woods looking over your shoulder at Night!! If this was to show up on my camera I would be a millionare! Cause the first thing i would do is call JELLO and tell them i discovered a new flavor of pudding!!! Paranormal activity yes-believer. However over my years beating the brush,cane breaks,willow swamps and places a rabbit wouldn't go I have seen somethings that are unexplainable and down right bewildering! And I am not ashamed to say there are more than one pair of soiled thongs hanging in the bush! Listen--Man knows more about the surface of the moon than what lives in the sea or creaps or crawls beneath his feet.(Giant squid-found)Thought to be extict creatures and fish-found.New species being discovered regularily. How can you dismiss thousands of years of stories handed down from generation to generation incompasing many tribes,tongues,and ethnic background? Believe me! IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME before these (so-called) myths start showing up! Believe me! when they DO find Bigfoot I will be the one in the front Screaming I TOLD YOU SO!!!
